Roger Daltrey serves a slice of royalty

The concert scene in Seattle seems to be getting better lately, and last night’s serving from  iconic vocalist of The Who, Roger Daltrey was just more icing on the cake.  If I dare, and I will, call him an aging rocker because we all are aging.  After a couple of minor monitor problems for Daltrey, the show was on!

There wasn’t a lot of stage movement for him, but then again I don’t recall Daltrey ever moving from left to right on stage much anyhow.  His voice was good too, and strong.  Believe it or not, he’s 65 and looking better than many of us who were there to watch him, and many of us were 20 years his junior.

What a great surprise midway through his performance when Eddie Vedder walked on stage!  If you missed this show, you won’t have another chance for a solo performance.  You’ll just have to hope that he and remaining original member of The Who decide to tour and make a stop in Seattle- until then, throw in a Who CD and close your eyes and let the music take you away to a better time and place.
