The day was gorgeous, and especially for Seattle. The air was fresh, and water had soft movement. The gentle splashing against the shore made for a tranquil feeling and put-forth a calmness that was welcoming after 3 hours of band rehearsal where the noise was near deafening.
What I like about this photo is the perception of depth with the slightly out of focus edges on the plant to the left to the sharpness and detail of the plant as you move towards the center of the picture. Also, the way the pillars in the water line-up drawing your eyes back to the center of the plant.
