Established bands across the country, ranging from New York hardcore legends Cro-Mags to iconic modern metal bands Korn and P.O.D., have sung the praises of New York City based alternative rock/metal group KINGS BOUNTY – comprised of Anthony “Q” Quiles on vocals (Stillwell, The Arsonists), Mike Dijan on guitar (Breakdown, Sai Nam, Lavalette), Steve Licata on guitar, and Mike Kaufman on bass. In conjunction with this announcement, KINGS BOUNTY has revealed a brand new track cut from their upcoming, currently untitled album, produced by Chris Collier (Korn, Stillwell, Prong, KXM). The catchy, groovy track, entitled “Made You King”, follows the release of their first single, “Denial” (watch the official music video here or stream via Spotify/iHeartRadio), which premiered this year at a showcase at NYC’s Bowery Electric. “Made You King” will be available for purchase online at the time of the album release.
“‘Made You King’ conceptually comes at a time where we are over saturated with self-appointed authorities all over social media – from politicians to athletes, to musicians to the everyday shmo,” says vocalist Anthony “Q” Quiles. “So, I’d like to think of the song as a smack in the face, with both its energy and its message, speaking for the people that feel the same way. Musically, it’s usually how we get the party started when we take the stage, it sets a tone of high level energy.”
Q adds, “We are super stoked to be able to share the stage with Korn. The first time we performed with them was earlier this year at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, and that was awesome. The fact that our brothers in Korn personally invited us to tour with them is possibly one of the most amazing things to happen to us to date!”
KINGS BOUNTY originally formed when singer/songwriter/producer Anthony “Q” Quiles met guitarists Mike Dijan and Steve Licata through mutual friends and fellow musicians. Fueled by a mutual interest in heavy music, the three began recording original material in Q’s home studio. The band was soon joined by bassist Mike Kaufman, who brought a heavy-handed groove to the mix.
KINGS BOUNTY is a hybrid of different genres of music seamlessly blended to bring a heavy alternative metal sound. “It became clear that our different musical backgrounds ignited a great chemical reaction after the first two demos,” says Dijan.
Music mogul and author Howie Abrams has even said, “In 2017, legitimately sincere new hard rock/metal bands are few and far between. KINGS BOUNTY wears its style on its sleeve, and comes hard with song craftsmanship, groove, crunch and lyrics.”
“What it comes down to for us is that we really dig what we’re doing, and we know it resonates in the songs, because a lot of people are already digging it too,” says Q. Dijan agrees, “It’s just the beginning -we’ve met so many people who say ‘this is the kind of music I love, it’s what’s we miss in today’s heavy music scene’, and that gives us the reassurance that we’re on to something really good.”
