Fronted by the dual vocal assault given from guitarist Kyle Rasmussen and bassist Adam Roethlisberger, and driven by the inhuman drummer Scott Walker, VITRIOL proved to make a successful strike at the genre’s heart with their 2017 EP, Pain Will Define Their Death.

Aptly titled, Horror is an exploration of all things macabre, as the undisputed pioneers of neck-breaking riffs plow through 15 of the band’s most intense tracks to date. Nightmares meet shred, as the speed-inducing track “Ravenous Cadavers” highlight EXHUMED’s penchant for blazing, face melting guitar work, while “Naked, Screaming and Covered in Blood” & “Playing With Fear” elevate EXHUMED to levels of grind unheard of since Gore Metal!

The stories told in Heavy Tales were captured and compiled by Harold Claros-Maldonado, a lifelong fan of heavy metal who originally contacted the Zazulas to write a report on early Metallica. After several discussions, Zazula felt Claros-Maldonado would be the ideal partner to help him tell his story in a book.

The multi-layered, richly textured and often heart wrenching album, represents four years of creative input from Henshall and draws inspiration from artists such as Bon Iver, Meshuggah, Squarepusher and Tigran Hamasyan, which has resulted in, arguably, his most ambitious and eclectic work to date.

The album was recorded at the noted Powerstation Studios with Gustafson taking on all guitar and bass duties for DESTRUCTION RITUAL. “This is the hardest I’ve ever worked on an album. 12 songs – guitar, bass and lyrics. Musically, I stuck to my roots, but had an open mind. The music matters above all else,” explained Gustafson. And of the criticisms of the band name, Gustafson takes them in stride “All I know is, if a band came out today with the name PINK FLOYD and I based my interest on their name, I probably wouldn’t give them a listen. And how wrong I would be!”

Kill The Outside showcases a mixture of styles, making for a truly dynamic and emotive collection of tracks. In addition to the metal radio-ready “Ascension”, mellow head-bobbers like “Burn” echo grunge and stoner metal influences, while standout track “Low Road” kicks off with a Type O Negative-esque intro riff before quickly transitioning to full-on antagonistic southern groove metal.

Burgeoning hard rock/metal band EVOLUTION EMPIRE – featuring former members of Hellyeah, Danzig and Fear Factory – have been tapped to play alongside Life of Agony and Doyle on a European tour this fall.
