This guy has to be the happiest performer that I’ve seen in a very long time, there was nothing fake about him, Al Green owned the night.
The air was cool, but full of soul as the capacity crowd of people waited to hear and see Al Green. It truly was a diverse crowd of people that night too, from every race and age group people waited as the sun went down and the lights came up on stage bring to life one of the best Grammy Award winning performer of the 70′s. From the moment Green came on stage waving his arms in the air with his white gloves on, he smiled like a child eating cotton candy at a carnival; and trust me, I along with everyone there felt the same. We were in for a treat!
He sang his familiar tunes, and the not so familiar tunes, and then the newest stuff which was like the oldest stuff, great. Green walked from one end of the stage to the other handing out roses to women in the crowd working it like a consummate pro. It’s remarkable to me that some of these guys have the stamina to do this sort of thing night-after-night, year-after-year and continue to put on a quality show.
I liked Al Green before, but I’m a fan now. It may have taken me 30+ years but his songs are now on permenent rotation in my itunes catelog.

When the day started, it wasn’t looking like summer. A little drizzle, and a lot of clouds. I was worried that the outdoor concert with the Beach Boys was going to be a wet one, but somehow the clouds parted, and the sun came out and everything was just fine. The show on Sunday night had a very special meaning to a group of people who attended in memory of a loved one. Jessica Joseph, [...]

Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinnie Appice; collectively known as Heaven and Hell showed everyone what it takes to have longevity in an ever changing world of music. Tony Iommi glides over the frets of the guitar neck It amazing and electrifying seeing these guys come out on stage and sound the say they did, and one thing was certain, Dio was was relaxed and having the time of his life. I’ve [...]

In the 60′s America saw an influx of British music which has indelibly been marked “The British Invasion” and one of those band that invaded the North American Continent was none-other-than The Moody Blues. Since the release of their debut album in 1965, The Moody Blues have been playing and writing their style of music decade after decade into the 2000′s when they released their first holiday/Christmas CD in 2003. On a side note, The Moody Blues came [...]
